JOB DESCRIPTION
As part of the Physics department, the Physics Research Team will BE divided into 2 groups : a group focused on the hydrodynamics of high-speed encapsulation and another group dedicated to the physics of hydrogel capsules. This new division of the team will have the mission to explore the phenomenology of hydrogel capsules and measure their physical properties, with the aim of providing physical insights to understand TreeFrog's products behavior along its life-cycle, de-risking the development of buffer exchange systems, and reducing measurement bias throughout the culture process.
Reporting directly to Jérôme, the Research Physics Team Manager, and working closely with Martin, Lead Scientist Capsules, you will work at the interface of experimental physics, biology, technical engineering and process development as an expert regarding Capsule Physics.

RESPONSABILITIES
Working alongside with the team, you will BE responsible of R&D projects driven by experimental physics studies on capsules. You will have a wide range of responsibilities, including the following :
1. Carrying-out R&D projects to improve state of the art understanding of TreeFrog's capsules physics : Gain a better understanding of capsule phenomenology, both at the single and collective levels, to understand which parameters are the most critical to ensure process robustness, precision & accuracy while maintaining cell viability.
2. Design predictive quality controls that are implementable in the process : Set a standard on capsule characteristics and associated measurement methods.
Your day to day activities will BE :
- Literature searches on existing solutions
- Identify areas of research compatible with given objectives and deadlines
- Identification of internal/external resources and time required
- Conducting experiments (experimental design and protocol, appropriate implementation of techniques, data analysis, conclusions)
- Communication and challenge of protocols and data with the scientific manager.
- Production of a final report.
- Ensuring scientific relevance and quality of all activities
- Participate to internal communication of activities
- Participate to project reporting

Le profil recherché

With an experimental PhD in biology, chemistry or physics, you have at least 3 years' experience in experimental science. You have already carried out an independent research project in Academia and/or in the Industry -a first experience in R&D in the Industry would BE appreciated-. You have a strong scientific background, especially in hydrogel physics, granular matter, material science. You have excellent ability to write, analyze and present results and ability to produce a minimum level of reporting.
Hands-on, you have enthusiasm to do experiments and resilience. You show open-mindedness and aptitude for change. You are proficient in analytical and critical thinking and have rigor, precision, listening, communication skills. Your research is team-oriented, you favor transparency, coordination and team spirit over individual performance.
You are Bilingual or fluent English (spoken and written).
You are motivated by the emerging field of cell therapies, and eager to contribute to their expansion? Join us as a Froggy in TreeFrog.
