Computer Scientist (ML / AI) - Strasbourg
OrthoGrid Systems is seeking a software engineer who is experienced in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence algorithms to participate in research and development activities for new surgical medical image analysis technology. This position is a unique opportunity to work in a small team of dedicated engineers, scientists, and medical doctors to help design and build intraoperative computer vision tools for orthopedics. The ideal candidate will BE an experienced software engineer with a commitment to sound software engineering practice and a desire to work in a dynamic and flexible R&D environment. Experience in the mathematics and application of machine learning techniques to medical images is required.
Responsibilities
- Research and prototype applications of machine learning on large medical image datasets to solve problems in orthopedic surgeries
- Work with multidisciplinary team to integrate solutions into existing products
- Candidate will BE working with various team members such as data engineers, data scientists, statisticians, computer scientists, and with application developers
- May manage one or more advanced research projects simultaneously
- May require travel to conferences to research new technologies and research
Qualifications :
- PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, with a focus on machine learning / scientific computing
- Familiarity with fluoroscopic and / or x-ray imaging modalities
- Experience with modern deep learning approaches for images, such as CNN
- C++ development experience
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills - proficiency in English
- A demonstrated ability to meaningfully contribute to software development projects
- Familiarity with 3D medical imaging modalities such as CT and MRI
- Working knowledge of software verification and validation, including continuous integration methodologies and tools
- Agile project methodologies
- Experience with applied image processing and / or computer vision
- Experience with any of the following toolkits : VTK, ITK, OpenCV, CMake, Qt
- Medical device software development experience.
